Akinori Goto is a media artist who managed to create some unique artwork by using his 3D-printing zoetrope. He explains it as exploring the relationship between movement and time.
A zoetrope is usually known as one of several pre-film animation devices. It was used to produce the illusion of motion by displaying a sequence of photographs or drawings. This way it could create the illusion of showing progressive motion to the eyes.
