The first large part of the Great Wall of China was built by Emperor Qin Shihuang to fend off attacks by Mongols from the north.
The wall took about 9 years of construction to complete, using around 1 million workers. After expanding over the course of 6 dynasties, the Great Wall now spans over about 22,000 km and crosses 9 provinces.
Not all parts of the Great Wall are open to the public. But with drone technology we can enjoy beautiful parts of the Great Wall that have never been visited before by the general public.
