NTD spoke to former White House Deputy National Security Adviser Stephen Yates—who is now the China policy chair at the America First Policy Initiative—about the growing threat of China’s long-term influence operations on, and technological manipulation of, American life. He said that there are two key issues when it comes to the Chinese Communist Party influencing the American public.
The first are the long-term influence operations by the CCP that primarily target individuals in office, or those running for office. The second part is the CCP’s technological weaponization of social media and other technological tools to steer opinion. He explains how well the United States is prepared to counter these threats.
