Senior officials from the United States, Egypt, Israel, and Qatar will reportedly resume negotiations on Tuesday in Cairo regarding a hostage deal and a humanitarian pause, according to Reuters.
State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller didn’t confirm that talks would take place, but said Israel’s military action in Rafah “should in no way impact the negotiations.” NTD spoke with Aryeh Lightstone, a former senior advisor to the U.S. Ambassador to Israel and a former special envoy for the Abraham accords. He said that anything that allowed Hamas’s terror infrastructure to rebuild would be a disaster, and would mean the current war had been fought for nothing.
