Trains have a lot of horse power, or hamster power in this case

Great Britain’s railroad history dates back nearly 200 years. The Stockton and Darlington Railway, which opened in 1825 was the first passenger railroad in the world. Only five years later, the first rail connection betweeen two major cities was built, connecting Liverpool and Manchester.

With this history of railway pioneering it’s of little wonder that even today Great Britain’s rails and trains still have  a rather magical quality.

At the Timpdon Lake Railway, at the Manchester Model Engineering exhibition, you can see something quite unique, a hamster powered locomotive.
