Hawaii outfitted to train astronauts on missions to Mars

Scientists train for a mission to Mars in the desert of Hawaii. Six of them are living in a dome on a Hawaiian volcano. NASA is analyzing how they survive in isolation.

The data will be used to study how traveling to Mars can affect astronauts, and to create guidelines.

The scientists are at the halfway point of an eight-month stint.
