Teachers, what would you do if your student was always late?

All Children in India from the ages of 6 to 14 have access to free education, but the drop-out rates out are rather high for all ages. Currently, there is about 40% of adolescents enrolled in high school.

The following video gives us something to think about.

Fahah Magsusi could not get to class on time and his teacher was angry enough to punish him: beating his open hand twice with a piece of wood. It was physically and emotionally painful for Fahah, as other students watched and laughed at him.

But one morning, when the teacher was jogging on the street, he saw Fahah riding a bike past him. He could not help but follow Fahah. It turned out Farah was delivering newspapers house after house. Fahah finished his paper route and came to school late as usual. After he walked into the classroom, he was prepared and extended his right hand forward for the beating, but his teacher came toward him with open arms and hugged him warmly instead……
