So-called book banning was in the spotlight yesterday during heated testimony on Capitol Hill. The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee heard about the banning of certain books in American schools, the implications for freedom of expression, and the protection of schoolchildren from inappropriate reading and visual materials in school libraries.
