Matt Laeur texted Hota Kotb after discovering she was replacing him as co-anchor of a top part of the “Today Show,” it’s been revealed.

Lauer was fired in November after allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct were levied against him by a former staffer.

It’s now been revealed that Lauer sent Kotb a text saying “Congratulations.”

“He was sweet this morning. Certain texts popped up, and there was one from Matt: ‘Congratulations!'” said Kotb, who joined “Today” a decade ago, reported E! News.

“And he said some nice words.”

Kotb previously co-hosted the 10 a.m. hour of the popular morning program.

“It meant the world to me to hear from him,” Kotb told E! News Tuesday. “It was really nice.”

Lauer has not congratulated Kotb publicly. He has not spoken publicly since he was fired.

However, besides sending a text to Kotb, he has also reportedly been messaging “Today” producers, expressing his views on certain aspects of the program that have taken place since his firing.
