People keen to offer Ukrainian refugees shelter in the UK can now apply through the government’s new humanitarian scheme. Levelling Up Secretary Michael Gove said he expects the first refugees to use the new route will arrive in the UK by the end of the week. But the programme has also received criticism, with the Refugee Council chief executive calling it not suitable in this humanitarian crisis.
