SANTA CLARA, California—While social distancing, lockdowns, and curfews have been implemented to slow down the spread of the CCP virus, they seem to have no effect on slowing down violent crimes like homicides.

Quite the opposite, the Oakland Police Department has just reported the 100th murder in the city for 2020—a nearly 50 percent increase from a year ago.

African Americans make up a quarter of the Oakland’s residents, yet they are over-represented in statistics as both victims as well as perpetrators of homicide. This year, six of the shooting victims that died were minors.
