Hong Kong authorities on Thursday convicted media tycoon and pro-democracy activist Jimmy Lai for his role in a candlelight vigil last year. The annual vigil in Hong Kong commemorates Beijing’s clampdown on the Tiananmen protests in 1989. Hong Kong authorities did not authorize the vigil last year.
