Hot-dog-eating champ sets a new record

There is a saying, “Everyone is best at something.”

Joey Chestnut knows precisely what his “something” is: cramming hot dogs down his throat at high speed.

The Californian won Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4. The 33-year-old ate 72 hot dogs in buns in 10 minutes.

His record-setting win was his 10th of the last 11 years.

Afterward he told a reporter he could have done more.

“I know I could have eaten more. I mean look at me, I can suck in my tummy still. Usually, it’s way sticking out so I definitely have room for more.”

Chestnut said he will work on his conditioning and hopefully achieve new feats.

Miki Sudo won her fourth consecutive title in the women’s division.

The Las Vegas woman ate 41 hot dogs in a 10-minute span.

“Winning the women’s division four years in a row is unprecedented,” she told a reporter.

“I’ve set a new goal for myself this year and I was able to make it” Sudo said.”
