House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) recently spoke about two bills in Congress related to forced labor in China’s Xinjiang region.
“If we refuse to speak out about human rights in China because of commercial interest, then we lose all moral authority to speak about human rights any place in the world,” Pelosi said.
One of the bills restricts imports of goods from the region and the other will look at the supply chains of U.S. companies to ensure no sourcing of forced labor-made products.
