The House Natural Source Committee holds an oversight field hearing on Peace Through Strength: The Strategic Importance of the Pacific Islands to U.S.-led Global Security at 10 a.m. ET on Aug. 24.

The hearing will examine the importance of the U.S. Territories and the ability of the Freely Associated States to the United States to counter the malign influence of communist China and maintain U.S. strategic interests based in liberal democratic values in the region.
