Somewhere in the Himalayas, smugglers are showing would-be clients the 2020 video of Democratic candidates pledging free health care to illegal immigrants. According to one border security intel consultant, beyond Central America, there are people coming from Africa and China to seize what they see as their best chance to enter America—through the southern border. That’s to say nothing of the dangers posed by those dubbed “special interest aliens” who originate from countries with a connection to terrorism.

In Washington, D.C., the matter of border security remains hotly politically weaponized.

“We inherited a mess,” Democrats are saying, while seasoned border security professionals condemn the drastic changes of the new administration. Amid the struggle of politicians for legitimacy, the well-being of Americans and would-be migrants alike seems to have fallen by the wayside.

Hosted by NTD journalist, Brendon Fallon, Wide Angle is following the latest political developments in the United States and abroad, and finding the connection between these and the larger global trends of our times.
