Scott Walter is president of Capital Research Center. He served in the George W. Bush administration as special assistant to the president for domestic policy and was vice president at the Philanthropy Roundtable, editing Philanthropy magazine and producing donor guidebooks on assistance to the poor, school reform, public policy research, and other topics.

At the 2022 National Conservatism Conference, he spoke on the topic “How the Left Abuses Charitable Money in Elections.”

NTD sat down with him on the sidelines of the event.

“If you can boost turnout in big cities, the majority—strong majority—of that turnout will be left wing. And voila you have your election victory, that’s essentially the way Zuck bucks worked: the money went overwhelmingly to Democratic big cities, now they gave all over the place, but in vastly tinier amounts. So by heavily concentrating that money flow into the big cities, they were guaranteed that they could make a huge boost to the Democratic Party, despite it being of course illegal to do that.”
