Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, says he’s under investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s office in Delaware.
In a statement, he said they are investigating his tax affairs. He says he learned this on Tuesday.
The younger Biden says he is confident that the review will show he handled his “affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors.”
Joe Biden’s team stated the former vice president “is deeply proud of his son, who has fought through difficult challenges, including the vicious personal attacks of recent months, only to emerge stronger.”
Last month two Republican senators released more details about Hunter Biden’s overseas business deals.
It included alleged ties to the Chinese Communist Party and the Russian government.
Some of the new findings include millions of dollars sent from a Shanghai-based company with links to a firm that’s effectively an extension of the Chinese regime, CEFC, to one of Hunter’s close business associates.
And there are the allegations made by former Biden-family business associate, Tony Bobulinski, in a Fox News interview.
In October, Bobulinski made claims Joe Biden and his family “are compromised” by China.
The New York Post also made allegations against Hunter of scandalous activity sourced from messages, emails, photos, and video from a laptop said to be Hunter’s. It also reported an attempted meeting between Joe Biden and an advisor to Ukrainian gas firm Burisma Holdings.
Joe Biden has denied any knowledge about Hunter Biden’s business dealings.
