“I never met a guy like Tim.” Those are the loving words shared by Tim’s girlfriend, Tiffany.
Tim Harris is a unique man in many ways. He owns a restaurant in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has Down syndrome and was the first person in the country with Down syndrome to become a restaurant owner. After five years, Tim made the difficult decision to close his business doors and move to Denver, Colorado for a life-changing opportunity…LOVE.
Tim is the kind of man that gets down on one knee to ask, “Will you be my girlfriend?” Yes, he’s a true romantic who happened to meet another true romantic at a Down syndrome convention, Tiffany Johnson. Tiffany got hit by the “love bug.” You can see that “bug” manifest itself in Tiffany in many ways, but probably most obviously when you see her sprinting through the airport wearing an “I Heart Tim” t-shirt, and landing in her boyfriend’s embrace.
Tim is unique in other ways as well. He is a sensitive man, but also persistent. He cries at the thought of giving up his restaurant but is already planning to open another one. In Tim’s words about how he feels about Tiffany when he looks her in the eye, he says, “I see love. I see joy. And I see that I have a future.”
We simply couldn’t agree more.
