ICE Arrests 102 Criminal Aliens in 6 Days in Nevada

A recent 6-day law enforcement operation in Nevada resulted in 102 individuals arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.

Ending on Sept. 27, the operation targeted criminal aliens who had prior convictions for serious offenses such as battery, assault, drug violations, weapon charges, domestic violences, and DUI, according to Fox 5.

Most of the arrestees were from eight countries including Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Bahamas, China, Philippines, and the United Kingdom.

Of those detained, 67 were arrested in Clark County, where Las Vegas is located; 24 in Washoe, 7 in Elko, 2 in Humbolt, and 2 in Carson City County. There were 96 males and 6 females.

Those who returned to the U.S. illegally after being deported will be subject to immediate deportation, while others will have a hearing before an immigration judge.

ICE provided a few examples of those arrested:

A 58-year-old male citizen of China is wanted by INTERPOL for embezzlement charges in China and was arrested in Las Vegas on Sept. 24.

A 39-year-old male Mexican has previous convictions for possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and sale.

A 41-year-old female Mexican has a previous felony conviction for transport/sell of a controlled substance, and DUI.

A 44-year-old male Mexican also has a previous felony conviction for transport/sell of a controlled substance, DUI, possession of a controlled substance and illegal entry.

Another person has been accepted for federal prosecution for re-entering to the U.S. illegally after being deported and can face up to 20 years in prison.
