A little squirrel in Holden Beach, North Carolina, loves ice cream.

She started showing up at Scott and Pam’s Fantasy Isle Ice Cream shop last summer.

“She came down and just got friendly with the customers and ultimately took one’s ice cream cone back up the tree,” said Scott.

The Martins took a liking to the squirrel and gave her the nickname “Putter.” She was adopted as the mascot of their ice cream shop.

Putter’s favorite flavor is vanilla. She even gets a special bit-sized cone.

“You can call her name and she literally will come out of her nest from one of these big trees and hop her way down to the roof to the rail and waits on her cone,” said Scott.

Customers like her, too.

“The first thing they ask for is—is Putter here? Have you seen Putter today? So they come. They know she’s here and they want to see her,” said Pam.
