Illegal Crossings Dropped by Half in January Due to Secret US-Mexico Deal: Retired ICE Agent

Questions have arisen over whether the 50-percent drop in illegal crossings at the U.S. southwest border with Mexico in January compared to December is due to a secret deal the United States made with Mexico—or if it’s consistent with patterns historically seen at that time of year, as the Customs and Border Protection agency asserts.

NTD spoke to Victor Avila, a retired supervisory special agent for Homeland Security Investigations with U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, who says he believes the illegal crossings dropped by half due to a secret US-Mexico deal.
