Immigration Dominates Election Discourse as France Prepares for Vote

With only two weeks remaining before the French election, Parliament groups face a tight deadline to prepare their campaigns, which includes forming alliances, drafting campaign programs, and sometimes choosing leadership. One major issue shaping these campaigns is immigration. According to a recent Ipsos poll, immigration is the top priority for the French, following inflation concerns.

Policy analyst Philippe Fabry highlights that longstanding migration policies, opposed by about 70 percent of the population, present a democratic issue and are linked to increasing delinquency.
