New migration patterns are emerging, with an NBC News analysis showing that today, most of the migrants heading for the United States are coming from elsewhere around the globe—whereas previously, the four closest countries south of the United States were the countries of origin of the majority of such migrants.
NTD speaks to Victor Avila, a retired supervisory special agent for Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), who highlights the tens of thousands of Chinese nationals crossing the border illegally. He says these are not poor migrants like many of the others, and that there is no proper vetting process for them. Furthermore, their potential agenda inside the United States is unknown.
