Some of us may have seen videos of animals giving birth and usually, the young ones resemble their parents or siblings.
In the Shadow Valley deer farm, a pair of twins fawns were born and only one resemble their mother – an albino deer named Lucy. This amazing scene of Lucy giving birth, which was captured on video (though the filmmaker missed the first one – a healthy brown fawn that we normally see).
Lucy was seen licking her first fawn clean when the video started, with a caption by the filmmaker saying, “I had turned my back for five minutes and she had him. I had been with her for over an hour waiting to get it on film and she out smarted me!”
The filmmaker didn’t want to miss another chance and focused all his attention on her. There was a few minutes of waiting and he saw something – little hooves of the second fawn sticking out. The first fawn was very eager to welcome his sibling. He went up and started licking him, even before Lucy completely gives birth to the second fawn.
This second baby deer is all-white, just like his mom though you may have noticed in the video that he is yellowish all over. Once he is licked cleaned by Lucy, he will be an all-white baby deer.
