Amid pledges to cut carbon emission at COP26 in Glasgow, India, for the first time, committed itself to a net-zero goal. The country’s prime minister laid out five targets to reduce use of fossil fuels and increase renewable energy capacity. India is the third-largest emitter of CO2 and more than 50 percent of the country’s electricity comes from coal.
