The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) rose 0.3 percent in January on a seasonally adjusted basis. That’s up from rising 0.2 percent in December, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report on Tuesday.
Brandon Arnold, the executive vice president of the National Taxpayers Union, says inflation will continue to increase, but at a lower rate. With the March 1 and March 8 deadlines approaching, Mr. Arnold says, another short-term spending bill to avoid a government shutdown may be in the future.
