Intel Gets $8.5 Billion Grant From CHIPS Act

As the election heats up, President Joe Biden doubles down on chip wars with China.

The administration announced an $8.5 billion grant to America’s largest chipmaker Intel on Wednesday. The tech giant would also get $11 billion in loans to expand its facilities in four states. President Biden made the announcement in Arizona, a key swing state. It’s part of his three-state tour to promote his signature policies—infrastructure, chips, and green energy.
