IOC: Not Up to Us to Judge Peng’s Position

Chinese tennis player Peng Shuai was interviewed by a French newspaper over the weekend in which she labelled her sexual assault allegation against a former Chinese top official as a “huge misunderstanding”. International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach said after dinner with Peng in Beijing on Saturday, that it’s not up to the IOC to judge whether Peng could speak freely during the interview. He told Reuters “it’s her life” and “her story.”
