Iraqi police blew up an ISIS munitions cache outside the city of Mosul on June 3..
The artillery shells were left in western Mosul when the terrorists withdrew. The shells would have been used against Iraq soldiers—and Mosul residents.
Police blew up the artillery shells in a crater outside town.
“We collected bombs in this place to detonate them and rid the people of Nineveh (the province of Mosul) of the explosive remnants of the terrorist enemy,” explained one federal police officer.
ISIS is still clinging to a few Mosul neighborhoods.
