Irish ‘freak tides’ replenish once washed-away beach

A beach that had been washed away by storms is back again.

Since mid April, “freak tides” have brought sand back and rebuilt the shoreline naturally. People can now walk along a beach that disappeared 33 years ago.

The beach is located on Achill Island, on Ireland’s west coast.
