Israel and other countries discussed building a Mediterranean gas pipeline. The pipeline would stretch 1,248 miles from Israel to Europe. Nine hundred billion cubic meters of offshore gas was discovered in Israel, with potentially more on the way. Cyprus has 128 billion cubic meters.

Both Cyprus and Israel want to send their gas to Greece, and potentially Italy. The pipeline would cost $6.4 billion to build.
