Recent reports have indicated that an Egypt-brokered deal may be in the offing for a renewed cease-fire in the Israel–Hamas war.

NTD spoke to Israeli Government spokesman Avi Hyman, who indicated how Israel plans to proceed before any cease-fire or hostage release deals can be reached.

“110 Israeli hostages were freed in the last agreement,” he said, “and the reason that we got to that stage was because of the massive military and diplomatic pressure that we applied on Hamas.

“Hamas understands one thing, and that’s force. And we applied that force on Hamas to the extent that they were begging for a breather,” Mr. Hyman said. “And that’s how we got those hostages free. So we’re continuing on with our mission to destroy Hamas.”
