U.S. officials are remaining hopeful that negotiators are moving closer to a long-awaited hostage deal in Israel. But just how likely is it that the hostages will finally be brought home?

Meanwhile, the situation for civilians in Gaza is becoming more difficult by the day, with UNRWA now faced with de-funding due to allegations that a significant number of its operatives were involved in the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attacks. What exactly are they accused of, and is such strong international criticism of UNRWA justified?

NTD spoke to Rabbi Abraham Cooper, chairman of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom and the director of global action at the Simon Wiesenthal Center, to find out more about the path to securing the release of hostages and improving the lives of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
