A former U.S. Navy intelligence officer convicted of spying is looking to lessen the conditions of his parole. He was arrested in 1985 for passing classified info to Israel.
Since Jonathan Pollard’s release in 2015 after 30 years in prison he has had to wear an electronic tracking device. He also has to allow the government to monitor his computer, and he cannot leave the United States for five years.
His lawyer argued that he is not a flight risk, and that he wouldn’t be able to remember any military intelligence.
Israel has long petitioned for his release.
He offered no comments to media.
