Italian police arrested three ISIS sympathizers on Thursday, March 30, suspected of or operating a jihadist terror cell.
The trio from Kosovo were heard discussing possibly blowing up the historic Rialto Bridge in Venice.
Police have had the group under surveillance since 2016, with bugs, wiretaps, and online tracking. The group was heard expressing unconditional support for ISIS.
The group celebrated after the attack on London’s Westminster Bridge on March 22, which left four victims dead. One of them commented, “We could get to heaven right away by putting a bomb on the Rialto bridge.”
All three were in Italy legally. A minor from Kosovo was also arrested so he would not interfere with the investigation.
