With the cease-fire in Gaza having failed and the hostilities resuming, the weakness of the Hamas terrorist group after weeks of fighting has led to its losing a degree of control over the area. That’s according to a British military expert, who says he believes many of the hostages in Gaza may actually be in the hands of rival terrorist groups and even civilians, such that Hamas is not in a position to release them.

NTD spoke to retired British army commander Col. Richard Kemp to get his insights on the conflict and the hostage crisis. He said he is concerned about how the war will progress.

“Hamas will ensure that many of the people stay in place and act as human shields for them,” Mr. Kemp said. “It’s going to be a very bloody fight and unfortunately, quite a few civilians will die as, unfortunately, also, quite a few IDF soldiers are going to die in the process.”
