January High Job Numbers May Force Fed’s Hand: Expert

Despite recession fears, there are more signs that the labor market is still strong. The Bureau of Labor Statistics on Feb. 3 reported that the U.S. economy added 517,000 jobs in January. The surge is a big surprise, more than two times higher than expected. The unemployment rate fell to 3.4 percent, a level the country hasn’t seen since 1969.

NTD spoke to Julia Pollak, chief economist at ZipRecruiter, to discuss the new jobs report.
