Japanese demand for nuclear fallout supplies skyrockets

Japanese people don’t want to wait until North Korea drops a nuclear bomb, so they are taking protective measures now. They are buying shelters and air purifiers that filter nuclear radiation.

Seiichiro Nishimoto, CEO of Shelter.co, has seen the demand for his nuclear protection products skyrocket, “(Demands now are) tens times as many as that when Fukushima (the 2011 earthquake and Fukushima nuclear disaster) happened. Japanese nationals are interested in nuclear shelters more than ever before.”

Japanese also fear North Korea has the capacity to stage a gas attack, or even release sarin nerve gas like that used in Syria.

Last month a Japanese fishing town conducted a missile evacuation drill. The town was 124 miles (200 km) from where a North Korean missile landed.
