There was a pretty positive reaction to the July jobs report all around. NTD spoke with two top experts in the field, Greg McBride at Bankrate and Joseph Trevisani at FX Street.
One concern with the report was that the labor force participation rate—the percentage of working-age people who are working or willing to work—isn’t moving. It fell dramatically last year as people had to leave the workforce to look after kids, relatives, etc., or for other reasons, and there are still many who haven’t come back. NTD asked Greg McBride if he expects the recovery to be affected if they stay on the sidelines.
