John Travolta is glad fans are loving his new bald look and made sure to let them know his appreciation.

Travolta, who joined Instagram last May, shared a video of himself and his 8-year-old son, Benjamin, on Jan. 9, to celebrate reaching 1 million followers.

“Hey there, Ben Travolta, John Travolta here,” he said, while sporting a ball cap in the clip. “We’re dirt biking today, and we just got the great news that it’s hit over a million followers on Instagram.”

“We love you and we thank you, and also, thanks for liking the new hairdo,” he said, lifting his cap slightly to give viewers a peek. The father-son duo signed off with a thumbs up, while Travolta added an enthusiastic “Yeah.”

He continued expressing his thanks by captioning the post: “To my 1 million followers, thank you so much for your support!! Love you all!”

The first reveal of the new look came on New Years when the “Grease” star shared a photo of himself, drink in hand, and his 18-year-old daughter in their best holiday finery. While Travolta sported his familiar close-cropped beard, fans noticed right away he’d shaved off his trademark floppy locks.

“I hope everyone had a great New Year!” he captioned the post. The post had since garnered almost 163,000 likes and almost 6,000 comments as of Jan. 21, with the majority of fans loving his new look.

On Friday, Jan. 18, Travolta showcased his new bald look at the 2019 Living Legends of Aviation Awards, three years after he attended the same event with a thick head of hair.

He rolled up to the awards dressed in a dapper black tuxedo complete with a black bowtie. Travolta, who helped create the Living Legends of Aviation Awards, was an announcer at the black-tie event.

He explained in the video that the awards were honoring Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and former Qantas Airline chairman, Leigh Clifford.

For Bezos’ induction into the Living Legends of Aviation, he was presented his award, delivered to him on stage in a cardboard Amazon delivery box, for “advancing the principles of freedom in business and his personal endeavors,” according to Daily Mail.

Travolta also shared a photo of him next to Bezos, both wearing medals around their necks.

One user commented: “you look younger with your hair shaved off suits you to” and another user added: “John you look so awesome without the hair, handsome!”

This isn’t the first time the actor has opted to go for a more natural look. Nearly a decade ago, Travolta shaved his head for the role of Charlie Wax in “Paris With Love” reported Daily Mail. At the time he said he loved that his character was bald.

“[I like it] a lot, because it’s a bald look and allows me freedom to be bald,” he said. “Just like in Pulp Fiction, this unusual kind of Dutch haircut gave me a kind of Euro-trash feeling to the character, this hero hitman.”

The 64-year-old actor starred in “Gotti,” which just topped the 39th annual Razzie Awards with a co-leading six nominations, including being nominated for worst picture, according to The Associated Press. The winners will be revealed Feb. 23.

Travolta also has a few new films in the works for 2019, reported Daily Mail. He has two films in post-production, “The Poison Rose” with Brendan Fraser and Morgan Freeman and “Trading Paint” with Michael Madsen.
