While filming the fifth film of the Pirates of the Caribbean series in Australia, Johnny Depp made an appearance at a local hospital to cheer up a few kids.
One of those kids was 7-year-old Max, and he was absolutely thrilled to meet the one and only Captain Jack Sparrow from his favorite movie.
Look at that ear to ear grin!
The boy and his mother first suspected something was up when the two spotted a helicopter land at the hospital. A staff member then let them in on the secret and the two eagerly awaited the star’s appearance.
When Johnny Depp, dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow, made his way over to Max the two of them joked around, took silly pictures, and before moving on Captain Jack Sparrow handed him a few pieces of pirate’s treasure.
Priceless.
For Max, who is in the hospital for a neurological condition called Transverse Myelitis and spends more time receiving treatment than he spends doing what an average 7-year-old does, this little break from reality was just what the doctor ordered.
