Joint Chiefs head says Qatar blockade not affecting US military

Joint Chiefs chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford Jr. told the Senate Armed Services Committee that Gulf Arab frictions are not affecting U.S. operations.

At a hearing on June 13, Dunford assured the Senate committee that both air base and command functions were undisturbed.

Several Gulf Arab states are feuding with Qatar. U.S. ally Saudi Arabia is leading the anti-Qatar faction.

So far the United States. has maintained good relations with both sides.

The United States flies important anti-ISIS missions from its Qatar air base.
