A cinema in Texas is giving an unique opportunity to moviegoers—to bring their furry friends alongside them to enjoy older films on the big screen.

K9 Cinemas is a dog-friendly movie theater in Plano, Texas, which allows one dog owner to bring their pooch and drink bottomless wine, all for $15.

Visitors under 21 are given free soft drinks at the $15 price point, while regular tickets are $5 for dogs, $9 for children, and $12.50 for adults.

The cinema comes with soft sofas to lounge on, air conditioning for the summer months, and even dog-friendly treats so there’s no need to share the popcorn.

Founded by Eric Lankford in 2018, the K9 Cinemas is a place for people who enjoy spending time with their dog.

“We’re going to have the movie on. We want people to be able to relax and watch the movie just like they would at home,” Lankford told NBCDFW. “We are going to be showing older movies. We are going to have snacks, drinks.”

Visitors must follow the cinema’s three “doggone rules” which are to clean up after your pet, provide valid paperwork that proves your pet is up to date on all their shots, and bring a maximum number of two dogs per person. Additionally, all dogs must be leashed at all times.

“I wanted to do something that made me happy for once instead of just chasing money and create something that made myself and others happy,” Lankford told Fox 4 News.

Lankford said he founded the company after his dog, Bear, changed his life “so drastically he inspired me to open the world’s first dog-friendly movie theater in history,” according to the official website.

K9 Cinemas is also transitioning to a members-only facility open from Monday to Saturday with membership prices ranging from $19 to $29 per month.

“Not only can you come watch a movie now with your pup lounging on one of our couches come May, with unlimited drinks, and with unlimited visits, but you can get your pup out of the hot heat and still get him or her out of the house and in our indoor facility in the nice cool air conditioned facility at K9 Cinemas,” Lankford wrote on the website.

The cinema also offers a variety of themed events, such as Wednesday karaoke nights and Thursday trivia. Recently, the cinema had a special midnight screening of HBO’s final episode of “Game of Thrones” for fans and dogs alike.

“We have a big heart for our furry family members in our lives and believe they should get a night out with you!” the K9 Cinemas website says.
