Kind-hearted soccer player stops match to save an injured seagull

Sometimes when you play football or soccer you may encounter a streaker.  But playing in Melbourne, Australia, instead there are animals…With this soccer game being played near the docks, naturally, seagulls abound.

The accident happened to this poor critter in the soccer match between Melbourne City and Sydney FC. Though there are seagull nets to keep birds out, many still get in and one landed on the pitch and was struck by the ball.

So what should you do with an injured seagull, laying in the middle of the pitch in front of the penalty area? — Wave your hands to get the referee to notice you, pause the game and carry it to the side!

Sydney FC’s goalkeeper, Danny Vukovic, did exactly that and the seagull miraculously came to life again. Maybe this bird will become the team’s new mascot…
