King Charles’s state visit to France, originally planned for Sunday, has been postponed. It comes after protests over pension reform erupted overnight into some of the worst street violence seen in years. French President Macron defended the move, saying it would have lacked sense to stage the historic visit amid social unrest. During the demonstrations, police arrested hundreds of protesters and some police officers were injured.
