Labour Calls for VAT Cut on Energy Bills

With households across the country expecting a surge in the cost of living, many MPs are concerned about the effect this will have on their constituents. Conservative MPs and peers have already signed a letter urging Boris Johnson to cut environmental taxes and VAT on energy. Labour forced a vote through Parliament calling to temporarily scrap VAT on energy bills. It was rejected by a majority of 90 votes.
