Labrador rescued from ice-covered river

The video of a yellow labrador retriever being rescued from the Indian River in Theresa, New York has gone viral.

Charlie had fallen into the icy river and could not get out. Fortunately, a local man heard the dog’s cries and called the Theresa Fire and Indian River Rescue for help.

When the rescuers arrived one crawled out onto the ice to reach Charlie, lifting him out of the freezing water before the other rescuers pulled both of them back to safety. They covered Charlier with a blanket, and nursed him in the ambulance while on the way to a local vet. Charlie was treated for hypothermia and has since fully recovered.
