Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics has said that aiding Ukraine in its effort to fight off Russian aggression is critical for global security. He said that in order to survive, and in order to serve as an equal partner to the United States in aiding Ukraine, Europe must arm itself.
He was speaking during an interview with an Associated Press reporter in New York City on Monday. In addition, Mr. Rinkevics explained that he believes the war will be a long one, but that a Ukraine win would help maintain peace—not just in Europe, but in the Middle East and Asia as well.
