A group of U.S. lawmakers sent a letter to the White House Monday, urging the Biden administration to take a closer look at WuXi AppTec and its affiliates for possible sanctions. The lawmakers cited public documents that point to what they called “clear ties” between the firm and China’s Communist Party and military.
Over in Europe, Beijing is vowing to take what it called “necessary measures” in response a new trade proposal from the European Union which targets two dozen firms, including three based in China and one in India. It’s part of the bloc’s efforts to clamp down on Russia’s war efforts in Ukraine.
